nothings free in this world indeed

I brought rie to united sq for her Chinese class and while at the busstop she already spotted 2 huge giant giraffe and a dinosaur those kiddy rides. And so after lesson we walked past and she wanted to try sitting. I didn't see anyone collecting money and there wasn't a crowd either. No sign board as well. So after much hesitation, I allowed her to sit. And then the trouble comes. The girl not in her uniform said to me :" erm so can you pay now?" I was like har?? Pay? And I said "itsnt it free? How much is it?" She replied $8. I was like what? And how many rounds is she going to allow rie drive? She said 5 mins. Cut throat!!! I kept grumbling while handling her the money. Who organized this? There's no signboard to say it's $8 per 5 mins ride? And it gave the impression that it's free. The parent who was standing behind me waiting for their turn suddenly moved to aside and was saying stuffs like "must pay one leh" so see, I'm not the only one who thinks it's free. And thankfully the girl said " or I refund you then stop the ride " yeah man you better. And so rie had only 2 rounds of ride probably just a min and we scrambled off. Shoo man. I must complain. I related it to hb and got a scolding. He said if it was him, he wouldn't pay and would just ask rie get off and go. Yeah I should have done that but at that point in time rie was already in the ride so I also duno what to do except to pay up. But heng got refund. I will never pay $8/ride for 5 mins.
