It's a long weekend...

We were suppose to follow mum and dad to Malacca and KL for this long weekend. But hb needed to work on Monday, so sadly, we couldnt go for another holiday.

And to make up, we decided to bring the kids out for a full day outing. First to Marina Barrage, where we went sun tanning..It was cloudy, but the sun was still out, and all of us got sun tanned...tsk tsk.

I think starlet buay tahan the heat, coz she was panting non stop and drank lots of water and couldnt find a good spot to rest. She rested on the concrete, then on the mat, then finally on the grass patch, where she found it cooler..Poor starlet, too pampered.

We left the place after 2 hours of kite watching. It's a nice place to hang out, but not in the weather like today.

Since it was still early at 2pm, we decided to head down to ECP. The weather was the opposite. It was cloudy, windy and so shiok, but started to drizzle as soon as the kids took out their tools for sand castle building..haiz. It's the same scenario the last time we headed to the beach.

Alas, we had to take shelter for awhile for the drizzle to stop before heading back to the beach again. And then it started to drizzle heavier and we had to disappoint the kids to head back.

We will come back to the beach again. It's a nice place to just sit down and enjoy the breeze, provided it's a cloudy and Mr Sun is hiding. My shoulder hurts now....Aloe Vera Gel please.....

Peanuts peanuts

Now that the kids are taking outside meals with us often, I have to be extra cautious about peanuts. I come to realize there are lots of nice food that are my fav that I cannot share with Reyes. The other day at swensons, I ordered a coit tower and forgot to inform them not to add peanuts. Thankfully, the manager made a new sundae for us without peanuts. It tasted funny without the crunch but all for the sake of Reyes. That means we can't share the all mighty nuts sundae too. Boohoo. And then there's rojak with peanuts, the cornetto mini ice-cream which has tiny bits of peanuts, and the mini chocolate tarts that had bits of peanuts that bad mummy me thought it's just harmless so few. Who knows just minutes into consuming and he complained hot hot and his lips started to swell. Bad me. Even the famous M&M, Reyes can only take the ones without peanuts. But funny thing is, he has no allergy reaction to kinderjoy, the egg chocolate. He doesn't eats the 2 mini "balls" of chocolate and I think that has bits of peanuts. And the list goes on like my favorite pig trotters with peanut soup, or lotus peanut soup. And braised peanuts my fav too. Just yesterday we had bak kut teh for dinner and braised peanuts happen to be rie's fav and because I feed them in the same bowl, I gotta feed rie with a separate spoon together with the peanut. For fear even the slightest sauce would cause immense allergy and I don't carry his medicine along with me. Maybe I should carry with me or even leave one at school. I saw a child birthday cake and that reminded me some may contain peanuts and I had to remind the teacher again. I think Reyes is beginning to understand he cannot take peanuts. Coz sometimes he would ask me "any peanuts?" and rie being the alert one would often tell pp that Reyes cannot take peanuts or he will develop rashes. It's not going to be easy for him and I really hope it will outgrow. For now we share a favorite fruit- the red red cherry on sundae at swensons. I haven't had the chance to eat it coz Reyes would always be the first to snap it up.

My heart and mind cannot stop thinking. Dad nearly had an accident in KL last week while crossing the road. He was so close to death as this fast speeding car beat the red light and flashed across the pedestrian crossing. Hb and rie was just beside him. It's very scary. Second escape : rie dashed off to look for hb at the carpark and a car which had parked in the reversed way was reversing. If rie had not stop in time with hb stopping her, the car would have missed her since she was still short to be noticed by the rear mirror and would have been knocked down. My heart stopped. I was still yelling loudly to her and she didn't want to listen at all and just kept running. Its another sleepless night. Feel so depressed all of a sudden despite having a family movie outing just now.

Why am I still dreaming about him and me. . .sad

Our first trip to Science Center...

I was woken up by the pitter pattering of the heavy downpour this morning....And hb told me that he is taking half day leave so we can all go out for family outing..It was a horrible weekend for me and the family and I just want to get away as well.

So we were deciding to head down to the museum as there's free entry for the month of Aug. I had wanted to see the Terracotta Warriors, but they charge $5 per adult and gin was telling me the exhibition isnt much to look at. And I needed to spend about 4 hours outside before heading home to make it worth a family outing.

Was reading Kim's blog that she brought her kids to the Science Center and that's when I got the idea from. So I suggested to the Science Center, where we can spend like 2 hours there. So off we went after fetching hb from work. It was still raining heavily when we arrived and I was just glad it wasnt crowded, so the kids can enjoy themselves and run about. They were really excited and so was I. It's been years since I last step there. I had wanted to view the shark exhibition but it's too ex a ticket at $20 per adult. Here's rie posing after much persuasion. They were just too eager to run about and pressing all the buttons rather than pose patiently for me.

I think the entrance fee is quite worth it at $8/adult and there are many Halls for you to view and meddle with the things. You have to actually read some of the instructions to see how exactly the thing works, but we hardly have time as the kids just kept running about. My stamina is getting lousy and my back and legs ache so much after 1.5 hours of walking non stop. I'm just glad the kids enjoyed themselves especially rie and felt really bad not able to explain to her many things that she asked. Sigh....lousy mum with lousy GK.

I would have love to bring them to snow city someday.....till then our next family outing.
