A sad farewell...but we'l meet again!

Yesterday night was the last night we spent together with aunt doreen, uncle michael, hub and willy. Time flies and just as we warm up to each other and start to get together, is time to say goodbye.

I took time off to meet up with the 2 boys to head to Robinsons to exchange their wallets. I'm surprised, coz they wanna get a wallet with coin pouch. Normally for sporean guys, they dun carry coins in their wallets. They simply dump it into their trousers pockets, just like my ah lao.

I'm glad I brought them down to exchange to something they like. Willy was blurred by so many designs and couldnt make up his mind. haahahahah...Hub was straight and direct and decided within 3mins of his design. They are definitely of 2 different characters....

But coz the payment was made with hb's card, we had to wait for him to drop by to do the exchange...and while waiting, we went to the baby's section to look see..

Willy is so cheeky. THere's this fake breast on display near to the pigeon section. He took his hp out and snapped it and showed hub. Both boys laughed. Aiyo..I dont know what to say. ahaha.

We left shortly after they got their wallets and arranged to meet up at the airport ard 8 plus...We stayed on till 12midnight and see them off for their departure. I told myself not to cry, coz 10 years ago, I cried like mad when they left...willy cried on the plane and ALL the way home and when he was home, he was very angry with his parents. hahah, coz he didnt want to leave spore that time. But he's all grown up now. He was exceptionally quiet during the dinner, perhaps he is very sad deep down to leave us. He is more emotional compared to hub.

Okay, and so, I did cry. Cannot tahan mah, but I didnt cry very badly lah, just sob sob nia when I hugged my aunt...dont know when we will ever meet again. Perhaps this is their last round back to spore. Hubby promised me to make a trip there next year before the 2nd one arrives. I sure hope he will keep his promise to me. Gotta start saving up.

We reached home at 130, bath, pack up and got to bed at 2am. Rie only slept at 3 and so did I. So I decided to take morning off and came to work in the afternoon. Dead tired...

Yesterday dinner at swensons, a terrible incident happened to rie. I order baked chicken rice and then hubby was carrying her. so I said put her on my lap and we eat, so i carried her put her on my lap and her fingers were so fast and she put her fingers into the baked rice and yell. Wah liao..then all hell broke loose lor, frantic lor and I got mad. Hubby put her fingers into the glass of water and I got scolded. Dad carried her away and told us to finish our dinner first. wah piangz eh. Buay tahan.

These photos were taken at Fish & CO, Terminal 2. The manager there is fabulous! I ordered the seafood platter for 2 and I forgot to inform them I want fried calamari. And the manager came back telling me he has asked his staffs to give an extra serving of fried calamari, as they have already grilled mine for the seafood platter. It was a huge serving leh..eat till so scary , coz I like only small calamaris....

Rie was sleeping also when we arrived and they were playing hot loud retro songs. The manager upon seeing, turned down the volume as well.

Flag day...

Yesterday noon, we headed out to Chinatown to meet up with my aunt to have turtle soup. It's been years since she last tasted turtle soup and she wanted to take this opportunity to taste it once more before she flies back to France.

When we arrived, there was a group of girls holding onto the tins asking for donation. Then come and target me. I normally would decline to donate, but then I saw it was for the wildlife conservation center, and so I donated. The stickers were really cute too! I took the zebra for Rie. Then I showed to hb, hb also suan me, say "I thought you normally dont donate?" Well, I told him if it's for animals, I would. He also commented that the stickers were really cute and asked me why dont get the whole lot of it? So I went fwd to ask the girl, if I were to donate $2, can I get 1 set?

And guess what! She said, yes you can. 1 sticker = $1. So there are 30 stickers and it would be $30!!!!! Wah liao eh, I donated just $0.20 for 1 sticker just now and then if I wanna get all, is $1 per sticker??? Forget it man. So both of us just walked off, with me still grumbling lor. I can easily drop in 30 times and get the 30 different stickers leh. Anyway, that zebra sticker ended up ruin on Rie's hand lah. Tsk tsk...

Then in the evening, we went to fetch dad and mum back from the airpot. They flew to Philippines for business trip and I bet they must have missed Rie alot. Mum called up on Friday to speak to Rie over the phone and Rie looks as if she know who is on the line and listened very attentively and even grin and smile so widely! I'm so pleased with her, she is learning fast. They bought 3 clothings for Rie. 2 tops and 1 green dress that dad picked for her. Now looking back, I'm happy we got a girl, coz I can dress her up! And she can wear my old clothings that mum kept for years to be used now. I'm gonna keep so that my grand daughter can wear them too!

Rie can now sit in the walker and run towards us when we call her! So cute leh, got a video clip of her, shall upload one day...

Over the weekend, we took up the Foreign Domestic Worker online course and hubby got himself a cert for that. Mum has decided to get a part time Indonesian maid at $350 per month for 2 months to help out. I sure hope it is just 2 months. So tonight, she will be heading to the agency to check out if there are any maid. I'm keeping fingers crossed that she is good. I have heard too many bad stories abt maid and I'm most worried abt some putting detergent into the drinking water, or even pee or spit in it! Disgusting!

Ah, forgot to blog that hor, on Sun when we were waiting at the control station at Chinatown, I spotted this ah pek hor, holding onto this lady, which is half his age. And must be from China one. He opened his wallet, passed her some dollars then har, pull her arm and KISSED HER CHEEKS leh!!!! Got my eyes rolling and I faster tell hb! He can be my grandfather leh. Wah piangz ah..then he pointed at her on her face and duno tell her what sternly, probably asking her to behave herself. Haiz..I pity these ladies..H0w can they be with them? I mean behind closed doors ah, how to ..... you know? Eee..the thoughts of it is so yucky.

Another busy weekend...

I took leave on wed to friday. Why? Mum fell ill and hence, needed to take 2 days off and Friday I went for my pap smear and Rie for her 3rd dose of jab. Heng she didnt cry this time also, just whine abit nia. But then that whole afternoon, she was in a bad mood, kept fussing and wanted to sleep. But each time I sat on the chair with her in my arms, she whine and start crying..So I had to walk about, pacing up and down the hall several times before she was in deep sleep and I could lay her on the mattress. She slept a full 3 hours from 6 to 9pm, undisturbed.

Time now is 930am. I hardly get up so early, unless of course Rie wakes up or I have things to do. I woke up at 8am, my boobs were all full and solid and had to pump. Rie slept at 12midnight and was really dead tired! She woke up crying at 130 due to bad nightmare, fed her and she slept till...NOW! We lay her on our bed yesterday while watching TV and she played and roll and crawl all over..hahaha, so fun...I really love this moment with her, coz she can respond to us, smile at me when I smile at her, laugh and giggle when I tickle her, grumble when she is hot, tired, hungry, and watching her learning how to pull herself up on all four to crawl. She can lift up her butt, then move back and fro..so funny ....aaahah. I feel that she is like a tiny cub, so cute...

Hubby tot of having a good dinner and we ended up at Ichiban, TPY. I was so famished by then, I just ordered my food and waited. Hubby went for a walk to look for my aunt and cousin and I just gobbled down my food within 10mins! Yes, I was that hungry.

Rie sat down in her booster seat, but not for long...Fed her with Heinz Chicken Vegetables and she loved it..

Mum and dad's back from Philippines this evening and we are gonna go fetch them back from the airport at 930. It's gonna be Rie's first trip to the airport...

A gift....

This afternoon, hubby and myself too half day off. We were both exhausted and thought of heading home to sleep. But who knows, hubby was in a shopping mood and went to John little and Robinsons. He wanted to get a new belt as his old one really terok liao... And so we thought might as well just get the gift for my 2 cousins and my aunt.


So we ended at Lee Hwa and got her a pearl pendant that costs us $229. I looked around and spotted a diamond ring..tempted. I wanna upgrade to get a bigger stone leh, probably 0.70 and above. It is so cheap now, compared to years ago when hb got me my proposal ring. I tried on one that is H colour, 0.72, it costs just $4688. Usual was $9000 +. now 50% off. But the colour is a problem. When I placed my ring next to that, can see very clearly the diamond was abit dull and black. I could have trade in my old ring at full value if it was within 2 years of purchase, but then, hb bought the ring in 2004. Hence, if I were to trade in, it would be at least 40% depreciation. So not worth.


Besides, the reason why I didnt trade in at first was, that's my first diamond ring from hb and is my proposal ring. Sentimental mah....So there goes. So if I were to get another ring, I would have to pay for it. Anyhow, later we head down to the baby fair at Taka. Wah, so much things to see. Hubby said I have only an hour, but ended up I had only 20 mins, coz he kept rushing me!!! So we got moisturing lotion for Rie, bath mat, a rattle toy, pigeon breast pads.


Then we went down to Ritz Carlton to get hubby his pillow from Ritz Carlton...He has been pestering me to get him that since we stayed at Ritz last year. He is now a happy man. But I hate the snoring!!!

Fireworks Celebration...

The weekend was finally here after 5 days of waiting. I'm amazed that I worked 5 full days without taking any leave or MC...ahahah, must credit myself for that...Probably coz I feel bad if I didnt turn up for work and the nice cabby uncle waited for us at the roadside you see. Coz it sems he makes it a point to look out of us every morning. He even had the "busY" sign on so that other passengers know he is not available to pick passengers up! What if he couldnt see us in the morning, then he might have just wasted that time, when he could have pick someone up...




Anyhow, bro brought uncle michael, aunt doreen and my 2 cousins to my place on Sat. We had made a deal that they would be staying over at our place. Actually, they were suppose to come by on thursday, but then, aiyah, they didnt want to bother us for so long, so they said they would come on Sat only...



This weekend there was the fireworks celebration too and I didnt know bro had the tickets and he didnt want to torture his kids by sitting there and waiting and waiting, so he passed the tickets to us instead...So excited...but then, I dread having to squeeze with so many people just to see a 15mins performance.

There was a display of flying UFO, I dont know what do you call those flying objects, but it was nice, entertaining.
So we headed to my parents place for dinner before leaving at 8pm towards Suntec City. It was already jammed by the time we leave our house, so no choice, the cabby uncle alighted us somewhere near Suntec and we had to make our way there..Oh boy I tell you, it seems like it was a end of year celebration leh, there were people EVERYWHERE! My god...And I was sweating like hell, hb too! I saw many brought kids, even baby in tow..Why t0rture them ah? Aiyo....


We made our way to the stand and took our place. The seats were wet due to the rainpour in the afternoon. Waited for about 20mins before the show started. It was okay, wasnt exactly VERY nice, but entertaining lor, 14mins to be exact, of fireworks display.

After that, hubby brought us to meet up with his old time ex colleague at a bar in Suntec. We had to pay $20 for the cover charge, and had 2 drinks each. It wasnt exactly a fantastic bar, but then, is good for me lor. There was a live band and it was a no smoking bar inside. Fresh air. The band hor, I also dont know what they singing and shouting one. There was a song that just had lyrics " I'm okay." And this went on and on until he just end off with the same "I'm okay." Weird. Generation gap.

Anyhow, it was late and I'm worried abt Rie, so I headed home first, while hubby brought my 2 cousins to meet up with my bro at St James. Alas, they cant get in as 1 of my cousin is only 18 years of age. They ended up at Clarke Quay and came home at 430am, drunk. Tsk tsk...I was already fast asleep with Rie by then..Tired...

Dad started feeding solid just after the day he persuaded me. You see lor..This is Rie after she tried her apple puree...hee hee..like 小花猫. I think she doesnt enjoy it, coz after few mouth, she shudders and closed her eyes. ahaa, make me just want to laugh only.

Okay,I've finally discovered that my PC actually has this slot which you can insert for the camera memory card! See how stupid I am right? I've been trying to use the USB port, but not successful. I thought my USB port was spoilt and took out a new one to try and got the same result as well. That's when I spotted that I have the memory card slot dude...

I think I rather spend $1 to buy the doughnuts to eat. mauhahahaha...

Rainbow...

Hubby spotted the rainbow as we walked home from Boon Keng MRT...It was a beautiful sight, and has been a long time since we last saw a rainbow. Told hubby to make a wish...*trying to upload the photo, but damn, it seems my USB port is down..*



I bought some hello kitty hairclips for Rie , but lousy one leh, all the hello kitty dropped out! cannot put near Rie, otherwise, she might just think they are sweet and swallow it..



Dad again ask me to have Rie start on solid. Aiyah, why are they so gan cheong to feed her solid??? Cant they wait till end of this month? I'm sooooo frustrated with them. Thats one of the con of allowing a 3rd party to look after your baby. It seems all your rights as a parent are gone. I wont be surprised if they have already bought some heinz food for Rie to try out in the office, without my knowing..hmpf.

Lazy Tuesday...

Rie has started a new game to entertain herself, that is to start blowing and making this booo booo sound with her tiny mouth..

And when she makes that, aiyo, all her saliva would fly out lor..hahah. there's once, she pout her lips and then just went brrrr....so funny...She's really fun to play with now too.

And the most pleasant thing is, she now recognizes her name and would turn to us when we call her name. She loves to play catching as well and would giggle very loudly when she catch grandma/grandpa/papa/uncle. At times, she will make me just laugh and when I laugh, she laughs and the cycle goes on and on until she gets hiccups. ahahaha...

She also loves to look at her fingers and grab her toes. I dont know if she knows those toes are hers, coz she would stare at them very long then try to catch them.

Last night had dinner with aunt and gang. Mum said she wants to engage a maid to help her. She's tired and furthermore, dad's getting on his age and cant possibly mop the whole house anymore.And then always eat outside food also...aiyah, I dont know them, but I just dont see why we should get an additional pair of hands for now lor. To me, is an additional cost that I wont be willing to spend unless necessarily. And you've got to feed her, bring her along when we go out also. No no for me...

The weekend....

Wah, been so long since I update my blog..tsk tsk..busy lah...

okay, talk abt this morning. MOnday morning. We rush like mad as usual and then waited for the pump to be sterilised. I"m glad we have invested in the avent steriliser man. Just need 90ml and 8 mins later it's done. No need to guard over the boiling water lah, worry whether fully sterilised not lah, worry if the things would melt not etc. Just pop it in the rocket, turn on the switch and wait..

Okay, so by the time it's done, it was already 6.55am. We normally head out of hse at 6.40 am. If we have luck on our side, we would get a cab fast. But luck is not here today for us. We waited past 7am, still no sight of taxi. And there were 3 other people waiting for taxi as well! I was telling hubby, aiyah, the uncle who always pick us up have left already. He normally reach our place ard 650am and this uncle very nice one. He will always pick us up, even if there are others infront of us waiting. Hee hee...

So this morning, after 7am, I told hubby call for cab liao...but then we were put on hold...then we saw the first taxi coming at 705am...Ask hb to faster wave wave, grab his attention. The other 3 also wave like xiao lah, but they were at opposite side....& the taxi stopped for us leh..hahahah..and who was it? That friendly uncle lor! So heng right?

So this time round, I strike up a conversation with him and asked him how come today he is late also. Then he explained that he ferry his neighbour's kids to school and this is his 2nd turn about. The first turn about, he saw the army guy waiting for cab and now his 2nd turn, the guy is still there. I told him we have been waiting for taxi very long also lor. He said when he turn around and didnt see us, he thought we might have took a cab already..Well, fate lah..

He quite funny also. We were so frantic about being late and we didnt tell him the direction also, but he knows lor. Then when we arrive, he said, "eh, today you didnt tell me how to get here hor." Then we just smile, afterall, he sure know we are heading to my parents place...

We were just lucky to get him. Otherwise, think we sure late today liao.

For the weekend, Sat, we went dwn to Tiong Bahru for the doughnut making class. Hubby was looking forward to it and was very excited, until the deco part, he just cannot concentrate anymore. hahaa. He say he was too tired...So anyhow, we managed to get past making the dough, proving, deepfrying and then decorating it. It was a mess to decorate.ahahaaha..will upload photos.

After all the hardwork, I told hb, think I rather pay $1 to buy 2 doughnuts to eat and forget about it. Same for the laksa that hubby cooked 2 weekends back. Lots of hardwork, lots of ingredients and lots of washing. Sometimes just pay $4 to eat and forget it.

Then last night, we went to RTC for dinner with my cousins..Managed to convince them to come stay at our hse for the weekend..Looking forward to it...I'm worried to leave them both at home alone with my bunnies, coz they EAT rabbit meat. Yuck!

The weekend is here again....

Last night, we took the chance to visit my granny. My french uncle told us he got a feeling she wont be around for long. That made me wake up that I havent been visiting her for a long time. So mum, dad brought us down to visit her.

When I reached her place, there was a very strong stench due to the poor ventilation. The whole house was in total darkness, except for a miserable small yellowish lamp. It wasnt a good sight to be greeted. I was sad deep down. I cannot imagine her being all along in the house in total darkness, nothing to do, but just to sit in the room or lie on the bed ALONE. She's not blind and yet, there's no light.

We called out to her a couple of times before she came to open the door for us. She has aged alot and become so fragile and thin. Mum asked her abt her hand and I notice her wrist bone is jotting out. Apparently she fell down and the bone misaligned and despite being in a cast that time, it did not recover totally, so she has to live with the bone like that. There was another blueblack on her arm and she said she fell down again.

She fell down many many times already. We just dont know why. I went to see the toilet, thinking perhaps the floor was wet, but then it has already been tiled with those anti-slip mats. Granny was wearing this brown slipper with torn socks. I thought perhaps the floor was wet and her slippers didnt have gripe, so she fell down. I told hubby if he has any socks that he didnt want to bring to granny.

Is so sad right for an old lady like that. She has 6 children, but then it seems only 2 care for her. My aunt who came back from France and my mum. I asked my mum, why dont they pool resource and engage a nurse or a maid for her? She questioned, who's gonna pay.

I mean she is already 82 years old. How many more years can she live on? Whats that amount of money as compared to her bringing up all the kids herself? I hated myself. I really want to help my granny, engage someone to look after her. Mum asked me to work, then I can help pay. Then what about Rie. : (

I told myself I must find time to visit my granny, before is too late and never...

My Uncle and 2 cousins are going to shift over to my place (I hope). They are now staying at granny's place and sleeping in the living room, without aircon. I think they will not have a good night's sleep at all. How to tahan Singapore's weather. My aunt already cannot tahan and resorted to sleeping on the floor ah...

They were actually staying at my bro's place since they arrived. But then, my bro and family went to sentosa to stay and hence, uncle and 2 cousins had to shift to granny's place. So well, I told mum, our hse's open for them if they want to come over, just have to clear up the room will do.

I regret lor, coz initially my mum did ask me if our hse is open for them to stay. I didnt quite like the idea, but seeing them so poor thing, I say okay. Afterall, they are back once every 10 years and perhaps this is their last trip back to Singapore already..I might never be able to see them again..how sad right.

Wah wah WAH!

got a pleasant surprise on this national day....I had just woken up from my sleep and hb told me that we strike 4d for wed, ie. yesterday. Cannot be mah, I remember seeing my handphone the 4d numbers what, how come got strike...and really leh, I see again, got the number in the starter and what number is that? Rie's IC number!!! Exactly the last 4 digit.

Heng this time we buy okay. coz I remember on Monday, hubby took half day and then I asked him to go and buy 4d and he asked me what number to buy. He asked his dad to buy. And then after work, hb asked me to go and buy again, in case, touchwood his dad didnt manage to help us buy. Heng heng ah, we strike $500 like that, coz always buy small small nia. We are kiam ga na lah..If only we buy bigger, then can strike more. Better than nothing.

So ai wan lor, if we had buy the number last weekend, we would have strike last Sunday and this wed's one...Wasted big time...

The tarot cards lady told us that our baby would bring us fortune and it seems really true. Ever since I was pregnant, the numbers connected to Rie often open once in a while.
But out of 10 times that open, we only say strike 4 times. Why? Coz everytime say no time then end up didnt buy lor!!! Grrr....Now that her IC number has opened, what number should we start thinking of to buy liao....mmmmmm...

I remember I even went to throw away the 4d tickets that I bought leh, thinking it didnt open. Heng yesterday's ticket wasnt with me ah, arbo this time I die big time!

Forgot to add on, hubby got his promotion & salary adjustment on Wed as well. It came as a surprise as he thought mgt only say say nia, but wont action one. So he has been very happy for the past few days...I'm happy he is happy..

Saddest day of my life..

This is probably the saddest day of my life where Rie give you the number and yet we didnt buy...

Yesterday Rie's IC number open 1st prize. 1st PRIZE okay! And I"ve been following the number nearly every week since I delivered her. This isnt the first time that numbers connected to her has opened and we didnt buy. Guess we just dont learn our lesson hard enuff till now. $2000 Okay, that is TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS gone just like that.

I couldnt sleep the whole night yesterday..keep thinking what if we made an effort to just go down to the shop and Q no matter how long it is. What if hubby called me on his handphone to ask what number I want to buy? So many what ifs. Who to blame? The culprit would be my hubby. My stupid hubby lor. His patter is like that one, after following a number for few weeks, he will just give up. That's his main problem. And once he gives up, the number would normally open 1 or 2 weeks later.

I nearly gave my mum heartattack too, coz my dad did buy rie's ic number, $10. but he bought the last 4 digit, whereas the number open the last 3 digit plus her alphabet. I normally buy both numbers...haiz...what luck right??? so upsetting...

Tiring...

I'm very shag today..Had only 2 hours of sleep leh, wah piangz..and the worst part is when I hear hubby complaining he is tired, lack of sleep and he wakes up only at 6am. Who is more tired??? Damn. So I came to work early, went to the nursing room and slept for 30mins...Very very tired wor....

I've been slacking on updating my blog as well. Lazy lah, busy at work....

Just some quick updates lah...
1. Managed to get the Medela dual pump from SIL and started using on Monday. Wah sey, it is incredible lor, I can pump in 15mins and hit 130ml leh. Usual I need 45-1 hr to get that amount. But har, it doesnt seem to empty my boobs thoroughly leh...Still feels lumpy lumpy...haiz...Went down to Robinsons yesterday to get the nuk bottles for the medela pump. The bottles my SIl pass to me has this very weird strong smell I didnt like. It smells like burnt plastic. So anyhow, am very happy with my nuk bottle and moreover, it comes with teats and the sealing disc too. very worth it. We also bought a teething for Rie..

2. My aunt is back from France, Adjaccio with her hubby and her 2 sons, yesterday. They are now staying with my bro. Long story lah, at first suppose to stay with my uncle, ie my aunt's bro, so that she can take care of her mother, my granny. Then duno what conflict lah, then end up they have to stay put at my bro's place lor. I cant wait to see them. They are only here once every 10 years...Maybe this time round is my aunt's last trip back liao to see her mum...sob sob.

3. I'm starting my addiction on joining spree again! Cham ah...Recently just got a pair of old navy turn-cuff socks for Rie. In purple. Very cute one, I like it so much..I guess having a daughter, I can get to dress her up mei mei. But that also means spending lots of money! Im also placing order for babylegs.
