Night Safari

We took the opportunity to head down to Night Safari since they are having 50% off the ticket price until 30th June. This was the last weekend and was glad my parents were able to join us, so at least they can help me bbsit riesia too...

Overall, I think it is not worth paying $22 for a full price ticket. Heng we only need to pay $11. And the tram ride is another $10/pax. The tram ride is very worth, it covers close to 90% of the night safari.

You should also watch the creatures of the night show. Fabulous! Entertaining and the lady guide was very very good! I can see the whole crowd enjoyed themselves and so did my dad. Kept hearing his laughter.

IT's been many many years since dad drove the road to Mandai. It sure does bring back memories, happy and unplesant ones..Unplesant : I lost dad's camera flash and duno what eqpt when I was young..Sigh...dad was very upset and angry with me. Feel so guilty till now.

Anyhow, in case you are wondering why no pix, I dont know how to use my camera for night shots! They said no flash, then I dont know how to take lor..sigh...Will upload some nicer ones when I have the time.

By the time we left, it was already 1030pm. Dad cheong down to Quality Hotel, but KNS lor, the guy said have to wait for 1 hr and their supper ends at 1230midnight. I rebuked him back, now is already 11pm, wait till 12midnight, eat 30mins?????

What the hell right? So we tried out luck at the outside cafe for prawn mee, but alamak, no prawn mee, only laksa. And by then riesia was making noise, coz she cannot eat and she was very hungry.

So we went to the 24hrs hawker near my place and heng still got food....Reached home around 1230 and I only managed to sleep at 145am after pumping....yawn.

Tiring week.

Seems like we are starting the rounds of buffet again!

Went down to Raffles Town Club on Wed for buffet dinner. Been a long time since we went for buffet. Not easy to handle both kids at the table hor. I gotta feed riesia and hb gotta feed reyes.

And I am always the last to start my dinner. Coz have to feed riesia, while dad rushes his dinner. Then once riesia is done, dad will bring her walk walk, so that I can have my dinner. Otherwise, I would have to take turn to look after reyes while hb have his dinner...Then on Friday, hb treat my parents for buffet at Allson Hotel. Everyone knows my parent. Regular customer liao. So you can imagine how often both of them go there for dinner after work!

It looks like a cheapo hotel from outside, but in fact, they serve rather good selection of food! Hb says that they are much better than Quality Hotel. Maybe you should head there to try someday. Is about $25/person nia. Cheap right? As you can see from the pix, the atmosphere of the cafe isnt very in. It gave me the feeling of a Malaysian hotel leh. haha. And ta-dah! Riesia has learnt how to smile infront of the camera!

Taken fresh today during reyes's lunch bath time...
He enjoys splashing water while in the bath tub and screams each time I drag him out of the bath tub. Not happy with me lor for shortening his water play time...tsk tsk After hb got his first touch screen HP, I am now so tempted to get 1 myself.

Term1....

Teacher Cindy suggested for a class photo for the end of Term 1. How fast right!

And rie is the only girl in class, surrounded by all the boys.

Been quite awhile since I updated my blog...No time, not feeling well and lazy.

So anyway to make up, here's some pix...

We had a nice dinner with hb's buddies at Royal Scotts, Carousel. I would highly recommend this place for buffet dinner if you dont mind the high cost at about $62+++. They have credit card promotion for UOB at 15% off.

I had no choice but to bring 2 kids along after mum said dad wasnt free to help bbsit rie. As hubby works nearby, I would have to bring 2 kids down to the hotel myself. Is my first time and I think I would be able to cope and phew, thank goodness both were quite well behaved in the taxi. But reyes started making noise when we were about to reach, he wanted to sleep, but I didnt allow him to sleep. haha.

I sling reyes and held my hands tight with riesia. Walked along the pathway to catch a taxi. Along the way, met some people and they were like staring at me. Why? never see mother with 2 kids before meh? Chey.

The uncle asked me how old my kids were and then he commented this, which I thought it was so funny. "哇，一年生一个". hahahaha

I was so glad that riesia was very wellbehaved and so I got to enjoy the good food, nice dessert as well. Reyes slept about an hour, so hb had a good meal too. It was nice catching up with his friends once in a blue moon. I wish we would do this more often.

Last night, we had a belated fathers day celebration at New Park Hotel, Hai Xiang Lo with my brother & family. The cousins were looking fwd to seeing each other...

Here's big boy in his chair. He was well behaved too, but was very clingy to me. Slept for an hour and we had some peace. I must praise riesia too! She sat in her high chair throughout the whole dinner! Kudos! And so well behaved such that my parents felt she was so poor thing, sitting in the high chair for so long and told me to let her run about. hahaha...So ironic.

Scary...

We had a slight scary night on Monday.

After showering for riesia and while drying her up at the bathroom door, she suddenly mentioned to me out of the blue. Do note there wasnt any topic conversation before that.

Rie : Uncle so funny...hahaha.
Me : Who uncle?
Rie : Uncle die. Uncle so sad.
I stared at hb and hb stared at me...and then hb asked rie :
Hb : Where is uncle riesia?

Rie pointed to the living room and said : There. Uncle so funny.
Hb : Riesia is uncle still there?
Rie : Uncle there.

I kept quiet....wah liao, I didnt think much at first, then it was hb who started to give me creeps one lor. He then say to me to be careful, doesnt seem like a good omen. KNS right?

There was a funeral at the void deck. Could the soul have went to the wrong unit? And hb spoke to the air to the "uncle" to ask him to kindly leave us alone.

And hb asked rie again, if uncle was still there and to show him where uncle was exactly.
Rie pointed to the TV console area, I'm assuming the "uncle" she is talking about is in the TV, you know what I mean? Like drama serial some uncle etc?

By then, it really got my nerves lor...so errie. And I told hb to sprinkle some holy water just to ease our mind.

Since rie was young, I experience that she tend to have such weird weird incidents. When she was a baby, she often looked behind my back while I was bottle feeding her and she will smile. Sometimes, her eye balls will move left right on the wall as if there was something moving high above the ceiling. My hair would stand up sometimes especially when I was up at night feeding her and hb was so sound asleep. It stopped after she grew older.

And then there was another occassion when she kept saying "bye bye" to the toilet bowl while drying her outside the bathroom door, as if there was someone there. It happened many days and mum adviced me to carry her away as soon as she was done bathing to dry her up somewhere. It stopped after that.

And then the incident on Monday. Spooky.

Sick again....

Sigh...we are all sick again. And just when I thought I have already recovered, reyes became cranky on Friday night and I had a hard time dealing with him. I yelled for hb and left reyes with him, coz I needed to wake up early on Sat for work.

Only then did I realise in the morning hb told me reyes was not able to breathe properly with his blocked nose in the air conditioned rm, hence he was cranky and kept crying. Aiyo..poor boy. Mucus kept on flowing non stop and I can see he felt very uncomfortable. And riesia too!

At the center, many kids were sick, but they still come to class. I might have caught the bug from them...Sigh..and I"m now sick too. Doesnt feel good with the terrible sore throat, cough and flu.

But hey, that didnt stop me from going to get my levis jeans on Sunday afternoon. We had to drop by hb's good friend full month celebration at AMK. Promised already, so must keep promise. The little girl is so cute...reminds me of riesia when she was so tiny.

Then after that, I headed down to Metro Paragon. Was expecting a 20% off on the jeans, but I got more than what I wanted. Levis was giving away $100 voucher for your next purchase when you purchase a pair of jeans! And I bought 1 pair at $119.90 and paid only $29.90 for my 2nd pair coz of the $100 voucher. Good deal isnt it????

I cant fit into all my old jeans..sob sob. I cannot zip it up anymore, so upsetting...stupid huge hips after giving birth. Damn. But now with my new pair of jeans, at least I have jeans to wear again.

Hb took the day off today. He was also dead tired helping me to look after sick reyes. To make our day worthwhile, we went all the way down to Tagore Lane and bought riesia her table and chair set. The taxi driver "cheated" our $ leh. If we had travelled by Upper Thomson Road, it would have only cost us $8. Instead he travelled by CTE, and it cost us $12. He gave us $0.80 cents discount, coz we had to find which building it was too.

But actually he didnt cheat lah. He did ask us to go via CTE or upper thomson road and since both of us didnt know the way, and the driver suggested CTE, hb just said okay. But still feel cheated lor. hmpf.

So now that riesia has her own table and chair, I sure hope it will be better for her to start learning to have her meals, do her work at that table.

To think of, I think one of the professor told me before that for 2nd child, parents tend to take lesser photos as compared to the 1st child and I think it is so true for me...So guilty, so I decided to snap some more photos of reyes... He is very happy that he can now sit on jiejie's musical chair...

And riesia, sigh..the ever always wanting to be photographed, cannot resist the camera and joined in too...

So upset today..While clearing my cupboard, I accidentally dropped riesia's artwork of the easter egg and it cracked into half....boo hoo..

Wonderful night..

Last night, I had the longest hours of sleep ever!!! I went to bed at 130am, thinking die lah, later 3am reyes will be up. But I was so wrong!

The next min when I opened my eyes, it was bright, at 830am! Woo hoo..I had a peaceful sleep, didnt wake up at all at night...Woke up fresh and bright.

Wonder when it will happen again.

I think riesia makes a good sister. I am proud of her.
Today, reyes tried to hold his own bottle to drink water. Accidentally, some water splashed onto his face while playing with the teat. Upon seeing that, riesia took a piece of tissue and wipe it off his face...awww...

And this afternoon, I was busy preparing reyes lunch. And didnt notice that he was meddling with the rabbit hay bag and he took few strands of hay to munch! Riesia was nearby him and immediately, she stopped him!

She said : Didi, dont eat rabbit food. Cannot.
Took away from his hands and placed it back into the plastic bag!!! Twice I saw, coz she didnt manage to remove all the hay from his hands the first time...Pat pat for her.

But of course, behind this good sister, there is always the notti self lah. And still, her freakiness about cleanliness remains unchange! This time, she is so particular about being wet. And I mean like if our hands are not dried throughly and we touch her arms and her arms get wet, she yells and scream : Wet wet.

And If I accidentally drip some water onto her arms while washing her butt, she screams too, until I dry it off...

And when reyes took her toys to munch it and is wet with his saliva by the time rie snatches it, she throws the toy down and expect me to clean it up before she will handle it..sigh...

And when she eats something with her fingers, example small biscuits, she will need to clean her finger each time. And that means each piece of tissue paper each time she touches the biscuit per bite...I gave up and passed her a hankerchief instead.

I mean is all good lah, being clean and all, but sometimes har, just cannot tahan lor.

Movies...

It's been close to 4 years since I shifted here and I had never rented a movie to see, despite there is this rental shop nearby, until recently!


And is such a wonder to be able to catch up with so many movies that I had wanted to see but never had the chance...Now I'm thinking what other movies did I miss out...

The Little Big Club

Was also looking forward to seeing this Little Big Club. Riesia was the most excited and I was glad the organizers provided boosters for the kids. But har, as usual, there are some very duno how to think parents. Booster are meant for younger kids, ie when they sit in the chair themselves, they are not able to see the view infront, so need booster.

One parent brought along her daughter, I reckon is nearly 5 years old or even older and asked for a booster. The lady had to politely decline and told her that her child is tall enough for the viewing. Sigh...Then got another, talk and talk so long, duno ask what and they had limited boosters so I was glad I managed to get 1 for riesia.Reyes having his nap when we arrived. BUmped into one of my close gf...havent met her for a long time...Taken during the interval. Poor riesia. I really cant help but feel so sorry for her. She saw many kids having popcorns coz their parents were willing to splurge $10 on a mini bucket of popcorn, but not for us..Sigh..she just kept staring and asking me " mama, riesia want some popcorn." and I had to tell her, it's sold out. The mummy sitting behind me asked her hb to get their daughter a bucket of popcorn and riesia kept turning around to stare..So paisay! and the mother offered riesia, was glad I said no to her before riesia stretched her arms to get them..phew.

And well, I prepared our camera that can zoom X number of times and I didnt bring it along!!!! So angry with myself...and my stupid hp cannot make it. Sigh...

Busy busy weekend!!!

Oh boy, I think I'm excited attending my cousins wedding that I hardly slept a wink the night before...

Woke up at 8am and started to prepare reyes early lunch. Well, I was really looking forward to seeing the march in, but as usual, we are late 30mins...Haiz...Sometimes I feel so frustrated with hb, coz he isnt helping me much and end up everything I have to do myself, which means I need time to do with just a pair of hands. Damn.

The church is very pretty and is airconditioned! Phew! I think most churches nowadays are air conditioned liao har, given the hot weather in spore. I didnt expect what a huge crowd leh, close to 700 pax attended this wedding. Cant find my parents as usual lah, coz they were seated at the first row along with my aunt, uncle and cousins...

Anyway, reyes wasnt very corporative, so it was best we remained at the back. The wedding car is a Bettle xia...convertible one leh, and is so pretty! Wanted to pose to take pix, but damn hb lah, say paisay, KNS. sld have asked one of the bridesmaid to help me.

Here's a pix of the lovely bride..she changed so much. The last time I saw her was during my wedding, can you believe it?? back in 2006!!!Oh man..After the lunch buffet, we rushed home to rest before heading to the barney show at expo. Pic are in the next post.

Then after that, rushed to City Hall for the dinner. Wah, the taxi fare costs us $24 leh, from expo to city hall. tsk tsk. Wanted to take the mrt, but hb was like pulling a long face.

Anyway, I "transformed" riesia from her casual outfit to the dress that hb bought for her and the little cardigan I got for her from kiddy palace. So lovely...Reyes was handsome in the little checked shirt.Here's the big boy in his chair...

My cousin chose the same march in song as me...sure brings back lots of memories leh and also the same first course song....I miss my wedding.....Love attending wedding, wonder who will be next.

Rie in her new stroller....The downside about having a light weight stroller har, means u cannot hang heavy stuffs on the handle. Once rie is down from the stroller, the strolle can fall backwards...tsk tsk.
But it is definitely effortless to push the pram, unlike a heavy weight stroller, I need to exert some strength to push... Taken fresh this afternoon....I like this photo, coz reyes smiles too pouting.

R vs R

At such a young age, I can see a difference between rie and reyes.

Rie is such a pig, she pratically eats EVERYTHING u give her, except perhaps green vegetables. She will say : Riesia dont want vegetables.

When it comes to reyes, sigh...he's the fussy king. Remember he was sick few days? Such a torture to feed him paracetamol! He will cry and yell and I have to wait till he open his mouth wide and squeeze in. And riesia?

I left the stringe in the cup next to me while preparing reyes, she secretly picks it up and licks it!
Then after Im done feeding, she secretly picks it up again and sucks whatever is left...My god!

Then she goes :" mmm...yum yum, strawberry. Riesia wants some kiwi." Kiwi is the flavour of the cough syrup that I fed her last time she was sick.

Coz the medication syrup comes in different colour, I label them as fruits to lure riesia. Pink for strawberry or cherry, yellow for honeydew and this green for kiwi. Is such a breeze to feed rie medicine and she will happily even ask for more..But not reyes.

Yesterday, I caught rie lecturing reyes in the living room. The conversation went like this :
Rie : Notti didi. Beat. Pull Jiejie hair. Angry didi.

Haha, so I had to asked what happened and she came to the kitchen and explained to me.

Then while folding clothes, rie took my bra cup to play! And reyes went to grab it to chew on it. Rie then said : Cannot chew mama bra. Stomach pain pain. Wait die.

Haha, coz each time rie puts rubbish into her mouth, we always tell her, later u eat die. No more riesia. Not bad lah to have another eye on reyes...

But alas, I think I gotta take note of how I speak at home. I caught rie saying :" Shit Man" twice! Yesterday and today when she fell down and accidentally kicked onto something...sigh..kids, they pick up very fast.

Happy me!!!

I'm a hapy girl today and I am happy hb gave in to me!

Told him that the daytripper is currently going at $99 only at Toms & Stefanie and deep in my heart, I wanna cheong down to buy liao. Was afraid he would grumble and ask me to delay till weekend.

BUT, the moment I mentioned there is an outlet at TIong Bahru plaza....tad-dah..he said okay and after that to drop by his parents place, even if its just 30mins! KNS lah, but then he gives in to me buying today, I give in to him too lor.

So we went down at 8pm and bought the stroller within 15mins! So so happy abt it! And I'm happy that rie is happy with a new stroller and she happily sits in it while I push her around. It is so light, I can push with just 1 hand and even hold it while on the escalator without fearing it will drop!!! Kudos!

Recommended to one of my ex neighbour cum gf last night at 2am when she was up pumping and she also cheong down today West Mall to take a look. REally didnt expect her to buy and yes, she bought it on the spot too, same colour as me.

Tiong Bahru only had 3 sets of orange left. Till now, I am still thinking IF the set that he took out from the box was originally a display set leh. They displayed a red colour stroller and when hb asked for orange colour, the staff took down from the top shelf and out from the box, still in wrapper. BUT the funny thing is, the basket, the straps were all done up. Are they suppose to have been done up?

One consolation is that the spongy thing was still attached to the side of the stroller, so it made me think it is still new. But I reckon it must have been taken down many times for customers to view leh...sigh..just cant help thinking lah, u know.

But then, I'm happy lor, been waiting for this offer again since March when the lowest offer price was $98. And now, it is only this shop that offers the lowest at $99. outside all selling $158. I had this strong strong urge to buy from baby hyperstore at $158 during the weekend, coz they are throwing in a free strap and a seat liner. Heng I didnt! Heng heng heng, otherwise I sure vomit blood man.

And all thanks to this TPY mummy who informed me abt the advert in the papers...

For this lovely segment, AK played the piano. Last year, he learnt how to play the saxaphone but didnt quite made a tune...This time, it was perfect.

He told us that he learnt and practice everyday for 3 months so that he can perform for us by singing live and playing the piano. It was lovely....

Riesia graduated from Term 2....

This is the final term for riesia...sad, but then, we feel that she has learnt most things that they do in class and is time for her to move on. And yeah, a break for me too!!!!

LIttle R is sick...

Last night, went to bed at 2am right, so dead tired and I thought reyes will sleep well but he kept waking up to cry. Didnt suspect anything and after each pat, he slept.

ONly this morning after returning from TPY, I felt he was a little warmer than usual. Fever??? Siao liao lor.

It measured 38.3...sob sob. Faster fed him paracetamol and lunch and had a nap before I took him for the trial class.

The trial class not bad leh. There were only 4 kids, and reyes being the youngest, just sat on the chair and looked at the teacher. So funny lor. So happy he can pay attention, but then again, I think he abit goggy too.

Towards the last 15mins, think his attention span worn out liao and he started to cry. So fed him water and he was happy. THere was another boy, aiyo, throughout the whole lesson, he cant sit still and cannot pay attention. Is as if the parents threw $$ into the drain leh, that's what I feel.

But overall, not as bad as what I thought. Next week gonna be japanese class...

IT was on offer in Oct at Tangs, $99. I didnt know. Then it was at $98 in March everywhere, I hesistated. And now, it is back at United Kids, by Tom and Stefanie. They have a branch at Tiong bahru, but I didnt see the model. So I'm suspecting they only have it at Tampines.

I am so eager to cheong down tomorrow to get it, but hb is starting his closing. Sigh..although the offer is till 28th June, but duno by then will they still have stock..

A rendezvous night with Aaron (& hb)

I've been waiting for this night...I didnt want to ruin my night with hb, coz last year, when we went to attend Ak's concert, I quarrelled with him and didnt really enjoy the whole show.

So I was determined not to pick any arguements. But it still happened, BUT fortunately, we were able to resolved it.

Some minor logistic issues and miscommunications lah. So Big R was off to my parents place, and small R was stationed at MIL place. My parents offered to look after R&R, but hb had already informed MIL and SIl to standby and I didnt want to pick any arguements, we stuck to our plan. (that is despite my mum cooked our dinner and reyes porridge)

So the plan went as :
We will meet at Julia gabriel with my parents at 6pm. We will secretly leave the class with reyes and my parents will take over thereafter with riesia.

Off to MIL place for a quick dinner and then off to Indoor stadium. I still dont feel safe leaving reyes with them, and I wanted him to take his dinner, shower him before I left him in their care. Plan failed.

He refused to take his porridge. So I just showered him and left at 7pm. Worried.

Hb called home every 15mins to check on reyes. He still refuse porridge and they fed him milk.

Arrived at indoor, drizzling. Went to the busstop to check out the bus, but I had no idea! Spotted 2 ladies looking at the bus guide too and I asked them if they knew which bus. Said bus 11, but the number was not indicated at the busstop. So probably at the interchange.

Time check : 730pm. Are we going to be late?
I walked to hb and asked if we sld just catch a cab in. And it didnt occur to me to share cab! And the 2 ladies were more than glad to share with us..Hurray!

We managed to get a cab after sometime and thank god they were nice to share with us lor. It costs $7 for 4 of us and only $3.50 a couple. Compared to taking the bus and caught in the jam, it was worth it.

Arrived feeling very excited liao....8pm. Went to the ladies hurriedly. That night was my first time sitting at the balcony area. Disappointing, but what the heck, as long as I was there!

Spotted this tai tai with her hb and a teenage son. We gossiped. Maybe the son did well for his exams, so his parents brought him to Ak concert. We were so wrong! Guess who was the fan? The mother!

The minute lights dimmed, the mother screamed and waved her light wand! ahahahah...I am just looking at the mirror myself when R&R are grown up!

Throughout the concert, she screamed, cheered, clapped and at the silent moment, she shouted :
城城， we love you very much!

I wanted to shout something too when there is silent, but paisay. ahahah...anyhow, was so glad sitting behind me was a row of fanatic fans around my age group too! They screamed, I screamed along. muahahahahahahah

I totally enjoyed the show VERY VERY VERY much! The stage was awesome! It was a 360 degree stage that they brought along from HK. So pretty and nice. And although I didnt understand what he was singing in cantonese, heck lor. Took many many photos and secretly filmed a few segments too.

There were 2 so called mini encore. The first encore, I told hb it was not ending. The lights werent on, the crew remained where they were. He insisted onleaving and I told him, pls wait. It was 1120pm by then. And true enough, after 5mins, the curtains were up agaiN!!! Cheers...

And then, after the performance, curtains down. The crowd started to cheer encore again. This time, hb said to leave. it was 1130pm and I was eager to tell myself the concert has ended. I walked dwn the steps reluctantly and heng lor, just before I nearly step out of the glass door, Big cheers again and I heard his voice!

He said : 我就知道你们不会走的
and he said, the concert has actually officially ended. But to add on, he will sing 2 chinese ballets which we are sooo very familiar with. And yes, the songs I know, coz in mandarin and I heard them when I was in secondary sch! muahahahah.

I pleaded with hb to get back to our seat. The crowd cheered, sung and it was awww..I cant bear to leave. It lasted 15mins and it was already 1145pm. So late liao, but then once a year and since already so late, just heck lor. AK leh. hahahaha.

When it really really ended, we rushed out and deep in my heart, I pray and hope there will not be anymore encore. Managed to catch a cab from suntec after transfering via bus and picked reyes up.

MIL said to me, next time no more hor, only this once. hahaha..I saw her shook her head when we left in the cab. Arrived home at 1230am and rie was already home with my parents. She looked so energetic despite up from 11am.

She finally went to bed at 1230am and reyes at 2am. Yawn...had only 5 hrs of sleep before I had to get up to go sch with rie at 845am. yawn...what a night.
