Riesia the Teacher...

Every night, riesia asks us to read to her, either her story book or do her flash cards.


So that night, we did the flash cards with her as usual with reyes on my lap.


Then, after she's done, she took over the cards and showed to Reyes each card and read out the picture aloud! Hahahahaha...

Dead tired and drowsy...

I feel so awful today when I'm all alone with 2 kids again as hb has to go back to work today.
But somehow, I think they are also equally tired, so all 3 of us slept from 2pm to 530pm. I didnt sleep thru peacefully as I had to pat reyes whenever he is awake...but at least I dont have to pass the afternoon time like shit lor.

But then there is tomorrow and the next day before the weekend is here. And hb has to return to work on sat and that means I have to OT as well.

I'm having this bad cough and it gets so bad when I sleep in the air condition room. I'm so afraid that I might just sleep on and never get up! You never know. I didnt dare to take any medications in the day for fear of getting so drowsy. sigh...I dont have any MCs to claim hor and I still gotta "work"(read : look after 2 kids lah).

Sigh...I hope we will all get better soon.

What a year to start off...

On Sat night, we went for buffet at Garden Hotel after riesia's class at Julia Gabriel. Surpringly, there were only like 10 kids in the class! maybe due to the chickenpox outbreak, I'm not sure, but I am so glad it was a false alarm for riesia..phew!

We came home at 10pm and headed out to Whampoa Market at 1030pm to pick up the vegs for Junior. Hee hee, it was a windy, cooling night stroll for us all 4. On the way, we met this ah ma who was going to the market too. And so we chatted along the way...It was nice knowing another neighbour in our neighbourhood.

We bought 2 bowl of tau hui and 2 pkts of tau hui jui on the way home. The aunt who knows my hubby by now greeted him. Wah, I'm so proud of hb, coz the stallholders all know him liao! muahahah...

We came home at 12 midnight, all exhausted....

Reunion dinner night....
I didnt have a good sleep and so did Reyes. Reyes was sneezing throughout at mum's place and I was fearing the most that he would have caught the flu from riesia..I woke up on the first day of Chinese New Year with a terrible sore throat and cough while reyes was having blocked nose.
sigh...I was so upset that he is sick.

We headed to mil place for lunch and then to mum's place. And I told bro to send me down to KK hospital for reyes to see the doctor. Heng we didnt have to wait long. IT was about 2 hrs wait, but time passed very fast as the number moved relatively fast too. KK just renovated the children's emergency clinic. I thought it was too bright and cramp. I still prefer the old arrangement.

Reyes was asked by the doctor to have his mucus sucked out. I thought it would be easy, but i nearly fainted on the spot when the nurse told us she would insert this tube into his nostrils and it was like 6cm long INTO his nose okay!!!! I hesistated on the spot, I wanted to say No. I started at hb and was like saying, " is it really necessary? Suck already the mucus will still come back right?"

The nurse left the decision to us, then hb said to go ahead..I told the nurse, I"m not going to look. I cant bear too! I know it would be so painful and reyes would yell. As expected, he cried lor, I really cant bear to see and I was hoping it would pass by fast. I held his tiny fingers around me and kept squeezing. Deep down, I was telling reyes with my heart to be strong and is going to be over soon.

As soon as it was over, I snatched reyes from hb and stepped out...I couldnt control and burst into tears..I was so so sad okay. I could see hb's eyes were red too, I knew he felt sad to see reyes being "tortured". I kept scolding him lor, telling him was there such a need to do the suction? There was even slight blood being sucked out u know and when hb asked the nurse said it is normal. And she said there was many thick mucus. Of course nurse would say that lah!!!

Then when we went home, mum then added on saying why must do the suction lor and that poking the tube into his nostrils would harm the small vessels and next time can bled nose easily. I wanted to just die on the spot lor. I swear I wont let reyes go thru such ordeal again.

He was very grumpy and couldnt drink his milk well due to the blocked nose. He didnt had any good sleep either...Poor boy. I hope he gets well soon.

Forgot to add on. THe doctor said...(listen to this), reyes is overweight! He weighs a good 7.1kg now and she said his weight is a 6 months bb weight! But then his birth weight was already 3.6kg mah, so how heavy should I expect reyes to be? Plus he can finish 140ml of milk in the morning and on avg about 100-125ml leh. The doctor was like, he drinks so much? How I know? he hungry then drink lah. right?

Note to moonlight :
I"ve also started feeding reyes with plain water. At times he can drink like 50ml at a go. Otherwise he happy happy drink few sucks to 10ml nia. Still trying hard to make him like water. Coz you are introducing formula already, bbs can get quite heaty, so is okay to feed more water. It helps them.

Tried the gripewater on reyes too! He didnt like it! hahaha...

Sigh...

Received a phone call from Julia Gabriel this afternoon. I thought they were gonna update me with some stuffs, and YES, they updated me with a horror news lor.

One of the kid in Riesia's class last Sat had chickenpox. Apparently the spots started showing the next day, ie Sunday and the mum just called the center today to inform them. Sigh...I am so damn worried leh.

Last Sat, they had swimming as well! High chance of getting chickenpox. I tried asking which boy was it, but she didnt know. (not sure if she really dont know or bluff me one). Sigh sigh sigh!!!!

No wonder last night, I felt rie was kind of warm and past few days, she didnt have much appetite. This morning, she woke up with a cough. And I thought is just the normal cough and flu. I pray hard now.

Went for dinner at Royal Plaza at City Hall and I spotted few red spots. 2 on her tummy, 1 behind the ear, 2 on each ankle. But I really cannot be sure if they are chickenpox or not lor. Just have to keep monitoring.

The heng thing is I brought her for chickenpox jab last Nov. So I am hoping the spots will not be so serious. Im equally worried for Reyes as well, since he is still so young and living in the same house, it is really quite inevitable to not get the pox. Sigh...

Temptations..

Just received an email from Nirwana Gardens and they are having this promo on the huge huge villa at $550 nett leh for 1 night...

a 2 bedroom villa can stay 4 person. I'm hoping to have a getaway....mum actually suggested to go Genting during the CNY break, but then reyes dont have his passport done yet...

Then she said the next break would be good friday that week. I wanna go!!!! But I wonder will reisia be able to take the long journey up the hill...I cant wait for a break leh.

Maybe can go to bintan hor. then at least rie can play on the beach. I should sound hb out. But he is always not keen.

Next month is our 3rd year anniversary...I do hope we can head to somewhere before he starts his new job.

Privatising..

Okay, am intending to privatise my blog liao.

Received a call last sat from godbro and got a very unwelcome voice over the phone next minute.
The next day, received a very unwelcome invitation via facebook from a jerk that I want him erased out of my life.

Hence, have decided, I ought to privatise my blog. So if you have been following my blog and wanna be in the loop, do drop me an email for an invite okay. Deadline...31st Jan. starting 1st feb, it will only be opened to invited readers...ta-dah!

And I found out I do have unknown friends who have been following my blog and in fact, they have met me and riesia on the street! But I dont know who you are leh. Next time see me, just say Hi lah... *wink*

He did something which hb and myself dread for the day to come as we have to be extra duper careful.

He actually can turn himself over to his tum tum already! He did that when I left him in the baby cot last night and HENG I left him in there man. Now, whenever I am changing his diapers, he simply refuse to stay faceup straight and kept on turning to his sides and I had to keep holding him down..tsk tsk. I think he is starting to understand and show his feelings out. Last Friday, when I took riesia out to Chinatown with my parents and I said bye bye to reyes, he started to cry and looked at me as if he want to follow me too! He was sitting on hb's lap and then his eyes just kept following me until the door. Then I said bye bye again and he flapped his arms up and down and cried...haha...So cute lor. but you are still young lah, cannot bring you go.

Dad told mum that riesia has lost weight??? I wonder how do they judge that she lost weight? She still looks so chubby with all the baby fats leh. tsk tsk.

Swimming...

It's been a long time since we last went for a swim...so yesterday weather so nice, suggested to dad to head to RTC for a swim.

I was eager to intro reyes to the water too! But we dont have his swimming costume, so i dressed him up in a tee and slip on a Old Navy Flower flower pattern swimming shorts (meant for girls) for him. muahahah.Nvm lah, he so young he wont know.

I thought he would enjoy , but I was so wrong lor!
The mintue I put him in the pool, rie started to splash water and some water gena his face, he scream and cry out loud! Like so girly..ahahaha..

then i tried to calm him down. he was okay sitting on my lap. But once i put his legs into the water ah, reach his kneesonly, he scream and cry again. ahahahah, I give up! Got him out of the pool, dress him up and I went to enjoy the pool with rie and hb. muahahahaha...

Mandarin and Hokkein and Hainanese lesson

Well.... hb and myself thinks is high time that riesia picks up some mandarin. Although she knows alittle mandarin like 不要， 没有， 眼睛， 皮子(I dont know which "pi" hor)，嘴巴，耳朵， 牙齿，头， 手, but she still dont really understand what we are saying when we speak to her in Mandarin.

And so hb said weekends, we will speak to her in mandarin. So last weekend, we tried. And instead of riesia giving up, I GIVE UP! Each time I speak mandarin to her, she blur blur look at me, then keep speaking to me in English and I got so frustrated, I spoke back in English. Hahaha.
So lesson #1 failed.

Then we went to MIL place and MIL can only speak hokkein, so I hope riesia can pick up some too. I think she roughly understand but still cannot express. hee hee..

And I told my dad to help teach riesia some hainanese. I regret not picking this dialect up. Is one of the not so common dialect and is also my main dialect and is such a shame I do not know how to speak. Sigh..Must learn must learn.

And papa with reyes..I like this pix, coz Reyes smiles so sweetly..Bought another puzzle for riesia while shopping at Kiddy palace yesterday with Reyes...Stupid customer service people. I actually called them up to enquire if they have this puzzle and they dare to tell me " Oh, we dont sell Infantino puzzle." KNS and I found them hidden at the shelf area on the floor, so many of them! Decided to get this A Day at the Fun Fair, coz got 3D ferris wheel...But come to think of it hor, pay $30 for a few pieces of cardboard, very ex leh. Kids toys these days not cheap.

I am so upset...I wonder what happened, is it a virus

First few weeks back, my CD that contains photos of rie age 18 months and above suddenly got error and cannot read.

Then just now, my camera memory card has error and cannot read. ARGH..I am so upset....

We had visitors again on Wednesday...tsk tsk..Invited Blur and Moonlight with her baobei and we pop by my neighbour to see the swimming pool and neck float.

I'm still hesistating to buy the neck float leh..sigh..$15, but I have to really make full use of it and I dont know IF reyes when he is much older, will he refuse to wear it to swim too.

Crazy over puzzles..

I'm so crazy over kids puzzles recently after seeing my ex sup bought for her daughter to fix it.

I went hunting and thank god robinsons was having the 20% off and I bought the 20 words picture puzzle.

Then yesterday, went down to Raffles city and got the town heros which I think is very fun and cute!

Actually, I paid for I Spy my House, but then last minute at the taxi stand, I changed my mind and went up to exchange. Of course not before getting a scolding from hb lah, that I always change my mind after buying and this is not the first time.

I'm glad I changed, happy with my purchase. Will take photo soon...lazy.

Freedom....

So many to update, but so little time on hand.

Last Tuesday, hb was on MC. I took the opportunity to get my very first virgin BW done at CCK, a home based job. I was skeptical. I prefer home based, coz I feel they would not be as pushy as those in the salons and they would be more attentive and customer oriented. I was right.

I actually thought of backing out last min! Haha. Chicken heart lah. BUt then if I dont go ahead and try, I probably would just die with regrets. I must say the whole experience is ups and downs. The lady Lynn is extremely friendly and nice and she made me feel totally at ease, not paisay at all and the plus point is, she taught me how to control the pain. My whole session was 1.5 hrs. It sure is an experience that I will never forget.

If you've been thru labour pain, this is really chicken feet.

They use Sheseido for rebonding. My hair now feels soft, shiny and bouncy....Love it!!!

Well, had actually wanted to perm, but then I guess next time round.

I love it when the weekend is here. I told hb to give me day off during weekends. And I sure look forward to MY OWN TIME alone. I truly appreciate the art of shopping alone now. I never got the courage to shop alone last time! But now....I love it. Being alone, taking my own time to check things out, nobody to hurry me, nobody to give me black face, no worries about the kids. Wow, pleasure to indulge in my own time. Nobody but ME alone.

When I went to do my hair, hb was left home alone with the 2 kids and they refused to take their afternoon nap. I burst out laughing when I received his sms to me :

"Your son and daughter are terrible."
Haha. Now he understands what I go thru everyday in the afternoon with them, how difficult it is to get them to nap.

Eventually, they did nap, but just 45mins. And how he managed to get them to nap? Rie sat in the ergo carrier behind hb and hb carried reyes infront and he sway and sway till both slept. Hahahahahaha..

Of course, today, I tried again to go out shopping alone to Raffles City. But I failed. Hb was so mad that I'm gonna leave him stay at home again with the kids. So bo bian lor, whole family go lor. Chaos lah, coz rie wanted to nap and then she kept crying and crying. Aiyo. I regret so much to allow them to come with me. Sigh...no more next time.

Surprise...

Got a pleasant surprise from hubby today.

Surprisingly, I did not expect any gifts from him for no apparent reason.

But today, he came home after sending my nokia phone for repair at suntec with a lee hwa paperbag...

It was a pair of earrings, which he chose himself. Alas, it was so ex! And still ex even after the discount hor. The usual price was $1.2K. Xiao bo. I would have stopped him from buying if I were with him!

But I really love it to bits lor. haha. It is not easy to squeeze out a gift from hb. He said this is meant for our 3rd year wedding anniversary next month.

Swim suit

Sigh..rie has outgrown her swim suit and I need to get a new piece for her liao...wonder where to get this time...

Brought rie to Julia Gabriels today for the orientation.
Wah, she damn excited coz she saw the outdoor playground and kept asking me to bring her out to play. Had to keep her quiet for 45mins to listen to what Teacher Zita had to say.

And when the "class" finally ended, she just cheong out to play...Think we were out there for abt 20mins, then all the parents decided to go home and we were the last 2 to leave..Rie kept on crying wanting to play. sigh..

Back home, she kept on sneezing. Seems like she has caught a cold. Then took her temp at 1130pm, having fever liao..xian half. 38degree. Argh. I had it when kids are down with fever. No wonder she has been throwing her missy temper for the past few days!!!! And then she had no appetite as well. And me bad mummy, still kept on scolding and asking her to stop her nonsense..tsk tsk...

Tomorrow's hb gg to his aunts place for housewarming. Am just so glad to escape the whole event and stay at home.

Didi is most of the time on the bouncer in the living room with riesia while i sneak off to the study room to surf. So that afternoon, he was fussing and so I brought him along with me to the study room infront of the laptop.

Rie upon discovering her brother was missing, dashed round the house.
Rie : Where didi go? Didi Lost! Mama! Didi Lost!

Hahahaha, it was so funny coz she didnt notice reyes was hiden behind the laptop.

Happy new Year...

We went to Pariss at Marina Square for buffet on the last day of the year 31st Dec 2008 with my niece and nephew.

Now that riesia is much older and can play, she have lots of fun with the girls. We ended the buffet at 10pm and I thought we can stay up to watch the fireworks, but alas...so upset...end up we can only watch the fireworks on telly. I really miss the time when I had so much freedom and can just stay out late to countdown....when will that day come.
