Time off....

Yesterday, I was suppose to sneak out on my own "to work". BUt alas, boss spoilt my plan.

He actually smsed me on Sunday, asking if I'm able to help out yesterday and hb had to "answer" my sms. Sigh...So there goes, I told him that I'm not working and had to plead with him for 2 hrs time off.

So I happily went out to TPY, went to kiddy palace and grab several items. They are now having 15% off. But I still cant seem to find the wooden playset that blur had bought. Maybe my outlet doesnt sells them.

Then to grab cologate for rie and then ran to Coffee Beans at HDB Hub. I was surprised to see quite a crowd at Coffee Beans. And luckily, I was able to get an empty seat. Just had to satisfy my craving of Ice blended and a piece of cake man. Yum yum yum.

Then rushed to Mac to grab a burger and fries for the kids and a last min stop at Poh Kim to get the Princess and the Frog DVD at $9.80 nia! It was certainly a freshing time off.

Air Force Museum

Last week or was it the week before last week, hb took half day off to collect the car. Poor car had to spend a night at Chevy.

And then in the afternoon, he decided to bring us all to the air force museum. The kids were very very excited to see all the model display of the planes and helicopter.

They also have an air conditioned museum on the 2nd level. If you ran out of places to go, you can spend say an hour or two at this place. It's very cooling and quiet too.

Hearttpain...

Yesterday dad came to pick up rie. I thought he was gonna bring her to his place, but later did I know....

He brought her to Taka where there was a Toy story bazzar going on! And spent a bomb! OMG lor. So heartpain I was, coz he bought a idance buzz lightyear that costs $95.60 which I thought is so useless. He could have bought the other bigger and larger buzz that is $109 which I thought is more meaningful. Sigh..

Then bought this cheap TY phone that costs $8.90, which I think is only worth $5.
A backdrop stage that I dont know how much, but is another useless toy, a hot wheel car for reyes that is $9.90, another woody that is $8.90. And dad got a pair of movie ticket for free and a Toy story water bottle that rie got from the lucky draw.

Sigh sigh sigh....I'm so upset over the spending.

what's wrong...

I cant seem to bluetooth the photos that I captured on my hp onto the laptop. it kept saying that no bluetooth device found..why!!!! argh.

Reyes loves penguin and he loves watching Pingu on youtube, which could keep him quiet for few moments while I do my work.

Because he has yet to learn how to use the mouse, I have to run in the room every 5mins or so after 1 episode ends to help him click on another episode.

The car has a cold....

So Beep beep refused to move again last night when I needed to use her to head to NTUC. Hb called the mechanic again and then we decided to send her back for a check up.

And miraculously, the car began to move normally when the mechanic start the car!! Sorry beep beep, you still have to go. So the nice uncle towed the car back to the service center.

The guy called this morning and told hb that our car caught a cold and has some parts corroded. Few weeks back, I was telling hb, I kept hearing noisy sounds from underneath his car seat area, as if the car is having a cough. And according to the guy, he said it probably is because hb, after washing the car, simply drove up to the carpark and left beep beep to dry. On both occassions, it indeed happen after the car wash the night before!

Earlier, hb would wash the car at 630am on Sunday, head to market and then back home around 8am. And so far nothing happened. But on Tues and Mon, he went to do the car wash at night and drove up to the carpark straight away. And the next day, the car wheel refused to move.

So the guy's advice was, give your car a spin after a car wash. Dont drive straight to the CP.
I sure hope this time round beep beep would be obedient.

And...and...my worst nightmare has come. Or it already happened for weeks. We found roaches in the car!!! Darn, I dont know where their hideouts are, but it's so disgusting. Must be all the biscuits and sweets that the kids eat in the car. Sigh.....how to exterminate all of them?

Someone who can listen

I think you would understand how I feel if you had ever encounter a similar incident.

I'm someone who can be loyal to my hair dresser only if she listens to me.
During my secondary school days, mum and I frequent this salon at Serangoon Central whenever we needed to tame our hair. I followed the boss through my secondary school days, until my poly days. And despite shifting nearer to town few years later, I still went back to her for my hair cut.

And then, I decided to try out Chapter 2 with my gf during my uni days. And I met another nice hair dresser who made wonders to my hair and I followed her through for 4.5 yrs. I head to the salon probably just once a year or twice at most. Each time she would snip snip snip and layer more and more, despite me telling her, I would like to keep the back of my hair a length, coz I found it becoming to frizzy and flying all over since its very layered.

Of course she would say okay okay. Then in the end, still snip, coz she said it was very heavy at the back etc etc. So after the last round when I did rebonding with her, I never went back again, even though I really really envy her triple blade scissors cutting skill. The rebonding wasnt done to my satisfactory and due to some internal conflicts with her colleagues, I doubt she would be staying for long there too.

So I sourced for another salon, and went to the one at Hougang where my gf did her rebonding and it was very nicely done. And as much as I dread going all the way to Hougang, I had to. Coz the rebonding costs so much cheaper as compared to when I did my hair at C-2. And the result was smooth, sily, shiny and best of all, the hair dresser listens to what I want! And she also gave me the encouragement to try out the steps hairstyle that I did during reyes 1st bday, last Oct.

I went back to her again in March for my haircut and because it was just a mini trim, I'm getting very frustrated with my long hair now, having to tie up in a bun everyday at home and feel so eee whenever my hair is done up in a ponytail, sweeping my back. So perhaps I would be running back to her again sometime soon.

Reyes had his haircut done last Sunday at my mum's place downstairs some void deck salon that my mum frequents. And being a mother, I too wish I have a hair dresser who would listen to me on how I would like my kids hair to be cut right? But no lor. Reyes had his haircut last month and we specifically told her NOT to cut off his fringe, but she snip off in the end also despite saying okay, noted. Hb and I were sighing in the car.

So this time, I told her and reminded her that I just want the back and sides to be trimmed. Top I'm gonna keep it. Then she came, look here look there and as usual, gave suggestions to keep the front, but back high slope. And then it didnt turn out to be what I want in mind!

She actually shaved reyes hair short at the back instead of having a slope. So reyes now has short poky hair again. And when I saw her taking her scissors wanting to cut his fringe again, I quickly stopped her and had to tell her nicely thrice that we want to keep it. She tried to persuade us, say trim nicer etc etc, but I said no and hb joined in and then she relented. Phew.

So there goes, as much as I dislike bringing reyes to her for haircut, I'm still trying to persuade myself if those salon near my place are good at trimming kids hair or not. Not easy to coax and get reyes comfortable for haircut one leh.

Look who I bump into...

Last thursday, I rushed to NTUC after work to grab a kinderjoy chocolate for the kids.


It was already 945pm and only 2 cashier counter were opened. So bo bian lor, I Q-ed behind this middle aged auntie. And little did I know later, who she was...


She turned around and said to me in Mandarin : You go ahead first lah, since you only have 1 item. SO I mumbled thank you and glanced at her. And it was Er-gu, who acts in the drama series.


I doubled confirm again if it was her and said thanks again before leaving.

TY3

Okay, so I was saying we were suppose to catch Toy Story 3 last Friday at TPY Hub.
So as excitedly, we left at 8pm, thankfully we left earlier...because.....

we cannot start the car!!!! WTH lor. It was so frustrating, so hot and all of us were perspiring and the kids were making so much noise. We tried so many times, on the engine, engage gear to D, release handbrake and step on accelerator, but the car just refused to move and it seems as if we were dragging the back tyres!

Hb suspected gear box jammed, so he rushed up to get the manual book and we tried again. Failed.
Time was already 845pm, and our movie is due to start at 915pm. So we took the cab down and by then, sigh..our mood has changed liao lor.

The kids were so eager, but it took me awhile to settle down the kids in the cinema. And once the show started, wah...it was like magic. Rie sat down, munching her popcorn, reyes sat with me, munching popcorn too and eyes all glued to the screen.

On the whole, I really love the plot, but feel sad about the ending. Reyes was the scardy cat lah, 1/4 towards the ending of the movie, he was grabbing my arm so tightly, using it to cover his eyes.

There were mini shots at the ending, but I didnt manage to sit through all, coz rie just ran out and hb followed suit and I cant continue staying in the cinema alone lor. sigh..Now I'm hoping for the DVD to be released....

Okay, so we came back and hb called for the mechanic. And voila, the car actually works and there was no problem at all! And we had to pay $30 for transport lor.

Lots to blog about...

I relented to join dad and mum for mini father's day celebration.


It was orginally to be held at sakura, near our place. In a way, I'm happy that dad and mum likes that place, coz I intro them there. Their first trip to sakura was at the TPY outlet together with hb's friends way before I delivered. But then they didnt step in anymore, until I suggested to the outlet at Balestier Plaza one day for an impromptu dinner. And that as they say is history.


Furthermore, they get to pay the senior citizen rate, which is really cheap lor and that much of variety. I'm so going to intro them to other places, so that they can head there and not always to the usual hangout. P/S: I intro them to Quality HOtel cheap cheap buffet too! hoo hoo


So anyway, dinner was cancelled at Sakura and we headed to Lai Huat Restaurant to eat. I have eaten their food 3 times in a week liao man. We were late for dinner, coz reyes slept till 6pm and we have to drag him up from bed, rush down to United Square, Cedele to grab their Bestseller carrot walnut cake.


The first time I ate carrot cake was at KC's son first birthday party. I dislike vegetable and so carrot is out for me. I was quite hesistant to get the carrot walnut cake, coz the word carrot is like = vegetable. But then we've been always getting chocolate cakes till so xian, so hb suggested a change. And it's thumbs up okay!!!!



Here's a pix of how the carrot walnut cake looks like. IT's an 8" that costs $43.80. Good, moist and not dry at all. Plus the cream goes very well with the cake and I"m the happiest when I hear dad saying " Very nice, mmmm..very nice" and even had a second helping. I love to see my dad happy with my purchase, just like the chocolate cake I bought for him for his birthday.


But I personally feel that the walnut is just too much leh. They could have leave the walnut on the outering or opt to substitue with something else.

I'm so gonna switch to Cedele for their cakes from bakerzin liao. So many types to try.

Toy Story 3....

Yeah...we are gonna watch Toy Story 3 tonight and we have just bought the tickets. I cant wait!

Xian half...

Is this gonna be my very first missing parcel?

Order a princess disney swimsuit for rie and it's been a week since the other party sent out on Thursday afternoon and till now I've yet to receive it. So terribly upset.....

and rie's been asking me when is her swimsuit arriving.

On a happier note, we are gonna bring the kids to watch Toy Story 3 tomorrow. And I"m looking forward to the popcorns.....yummy.

When you have bought a branded bag at $2500 :

To your colleague : "Nice right? My hb bought it for me for our 5th year anniversary. How much? Dont know leh, he didnt want to tell me. But I think should be at least $3000."

To your MIL : "Oh, I bought it at a sale. It was the last piece, so I didnt manage to buy for you. I will definitely get one for you when there's sale again okay?"

To your husband : "It was going at 70% off okay! 70% leh, how to resist? I just have to get it. Somemore must fight with other people to grab it leh."

To your BFF : "Yeah man, it costs me $2.5K leh. This month can eat wind liao lah. But it's so pretty and nice, I just have to get it. Been waiting for so long..."

So....well...
I actually also resort to not telling hubby the truth of the price of item that I buy for myself or for the kids too. If I had purchase an item at $7.50, I have to slash it to $5.
If I had purchase an item at $50, then I have to slash it to $20.
Most of the time I would ask hb to quote me what he thinks is worth.
And most of the time, it is even lesser than the price that I had originally wanna quote him. hoo hoo.

A white lie to avoid more scoldings from him.
Was reading Kim's blog about her hb grumbling about his limited space in the shoe cabinet. Just last night, hb was also grumbling at me to clear my sandals and those that I have not been wearing for years! hoo hoo. Each time I wanna dump them, I always think, "still look good mah, not spoilt, throw so wasted." So back they go in again. hee hee.

Look what I found!

I was flipping through the old diary that hb got from his office. Year 2006 and look what's written on 19th of September 2006.... IN case it's too small, it's " Rie bDay" and that's my birthday and not riesia's birthday, coz it's dated year 2006 and she is not borned yet.

And that's how riesia got her name from the " rie" part, coz it stands for "deaRIE".
And "Sia", was inspired from the metro station name in Barcelona - "LiCIA"
because that was the place where we went for our honeymoon.

A wonderful Tuesday

Hb took a day off work to spend some quality time with the kids.


It was an impromptu to head down to Qian Hu. Ever since spending a bomb on his mini aquarium, he is now so into his mini aquarium and wanted to bring the kids to see fishes.



So off we went after lunch and thank god it was a cloudy day. It was a smooth ride and I've finally got front row seat. Rie agrees to be seated on the booster and be strapped at the back row. But then it depends on her mood lah. Hb is more than happy to have an accompany with him infront.



Kids were so eager to see the fishes, but then, they were also terrified to go near the tanks! hoo hoo, so funny lor. Riesia refuse to walk along the aisle of the fish tanks unless we hold her hand and she walks so close to me as if the fishes were going to jump out to attack her. I dont know why. Reyes was slightly more daring, but he has his fears of the polka dots sting-rays too! Can you spot the polka dot sting ray behind in the tank? One of the arowana used to belong to Chow Yuen Fatt. And it's so huge. Reyes refused to pose with rie, coz he was scared of the sting ray. He kept calling it "sai-sai fish", coz hb bought a sucker fish and he told the kids, the sucker fish would eat up all the algae which he calls it "sai-sai". See lah. Teach kids rubbish and they pick up rubbish.
The fishes were cheap!And we saw big headed crayfish and lobsters too. The kids were so amused by the terrapin...But reyes was afraid to go near. All ready to pose....



Then after a slight commotion with the kids, I suggested to head down to Dairies Hay Farm which was just about 10 mins away.

Kids were excited as usual, but I think they were also tired too. The smell was over-powering man and I just wanted to end my walk around the farm fast....
Then we bought the goat's milk. A cool drink to quench thirst.

Then, we saw a bird farm and then headed there as a last stop. Only to discover that AVA has stopped all visits to the run down farm, so we headed back.

And decided to drop by mum's office. Here's the kid in the director's chair....

Ended the day with dinner and 2 exhausted kids and a happy father. It's been a long time since I see him being that happy.

Scarly cat

The kids are watching their movie as of now and rie's watching her fav toy story part 2.

In certain part of the movie, it can get quite dramatic and reyes is so terrified and yet want to watch.

If hb or myself are around, he would ran to us and hide behind our legs and watch from the gap. So if his sister is around, he hides behind her..haha and I heard rie keep asking her " didi, why you scare?"

Rie pushed the boy who bit her on her tummy the last time during the family fun day at school. I didnt witness it, but hb did. He said the boy wanted to take reyes toy car and rie saw it and pushed him and shouted " dont touch my didi's car."

Whatever, my sister will stand by me.

Bearbear, cat, my love

I just have to blog this...

Okay, so these 2 are the most dote on teddy cat and teddy bear by reyes. As you can see, the colours are pink and purple and they actually belongs to riesia, both bought by my dad when she was young.

But she never had the habit to hug her bears to sleep, unlike me. Yeah, i still have that smelly torned and sewed back bear that my gf shirley is so terrified of that I must hug to sleep every night.

So well, reyes took over and I cant remember when he became so in love with these 2. Hb was grumbling so girly and each time reyes is in his deep sleep, hb would remove the cat and bear from him. Then if middle of night reyes wakes up, he would started to chant : "bear bear". Then I pass him the bear. Then he would chant again " cat. cat." then I have to find for him. No matter how tired I am, I have to do it to stop him from crying. Then again, he would hug them, one on each side of his neck to sleep again.

We tried substituting it with another TY dog, which he loves dogs. But failed! He would throw the dog away and ask for the cat and bear.

Remembered I ordered a handmade pillow case for reyes with the "shin" dont know what train? I added 2 ribbons as tags and thought he can treat it like his huggy to bed, but he doesnt even want it.

Cat and bear had their terrible bad days too whenever reyes get sick and puke on them. I had to wash and soak and sun them out and if reyes sees it hanging on the clothes peg, he would start begging me to get it down, so I have to bluff him say cat bath, so wet wet must dry.

So end up I give up also lor. I just hope someday it will be replaced with say his smelly blanket or a smelly pillow.

For rie, her obssession is with my pillow. Actually, I replaced the pillow inside with a new one that mum sewed for her. She is only obssessed with the pillow case cover, which is just a plain blue clothe with sun pattern that she calls it " Pillow sun". And every night same lah, must hug and smell to bed. If she drinks on the playmat outside, she also must hold it in her other hand. Hb always chide me who is the one who make us as parent suffer? Me. Coz whenever the kids plead for their cat, bear and pillow sun, I have to go and get it no matter what to stop them from their screaming. And sometimes, it does drive me up the wall that I ask hb to go and find.

Bad days = misplaced cat, bear and we have to hunt the whole house before bedtime. And ends off with a smiley and happy reyes.

Updates...

Reyes blurt out " where is it?" last night and I'm so happy he can finally say it clearly.
And he asked me again just an hour ago when he couldnt find his teddy bear.

It reminded me of rie when she first said "where is it?" and "what is that?"

I must must cherish this moment with them. Hb is always reminding me to love and dote reyes more. And I dont deny, I do that often and hug him to bed and I dont mind having him sleeping on my arms until it gets cramp. Coz I know when he grows up, he wont even want to snug next to mummy to sleep anymore.

On weird days, rie will request "can I sleep with you?" even though she is just right beside me in the baby cot. There was once, I woke up finding rie sleeping next to me. Dont even know when she crawled up to join us.

OKay, was telling blur that she reminded me I should blog about something. PLs do share if you have advice.

Because of rie's outgoing personality, more than often we encounter strangers coming up to her and saying an innocent hello and few chats like how old are you etc. I mean it's okay if I'm around or hb's around and that person looks harmless and normal.

But what happens if it's the elderly? And especially ah peks? Few weeks back, out on the way for roti prata supper, we met an ah pek at NTUC who just popped out from no where and talked to rie. I was there with them, and I didnt know what to react except to not bother him. Rie just smiled and smiled at him, which made that ah pek to even try to make her talk.

Thankfully, he went off soon after I ignore him and told rie to mind her business.
Then while waiting for prata, this ah pek just alight from the bus and then walked towards us and he stopped! And he started to sayang rie's cheeks and make small chats! And rie responded by showing him her "M&M" sweet that we just gotten her. And I wanted to stop her from responding, so I said " dont be rude". hahahahahah.

Then the ah pek sense my hostality and then tried to say things like " My grandson is also about the same age as her". He said it TWICE okay, as if telling me "I'm also a grandfather, so whats there to worry?"

But come on lor, u are a stranger leh. And rie being so innocent, I'm so worried she will just follow any stranger off. I asked her many times "If someone say " come, I bring you to find your mummy." what must you say?

She say " okay". Then I had to tell her, "no, you must say "No" or run to find your teacher or wait for mummy to come. Cannot follow people."

So there goes. Maybe I should walk away next time.

I dreamt of you last night again. I gate crashed your wedding and attempt to stop you from getting married. I woke up soon after.

I dreamt of you last week. We were sitting on the bus, heading to somewhere. And always in the dream, we were not holding hands. But when you held my hand, my heart skipped a beat. Why was it so.

When will I stop dreaming of you. People say, dreams reflect how your heart and mind really desire in real life. Is that true. Then why do I often dream of you. Why are the dreams of us not about happiness.

I miss greatly the time we had, but time can never turn back and I've lost you forever. When will I stop dreaming....

How to keep up? haiz..

These days, rie is very eager to read, but she cant read, coz she doesnt recognize words as yet.
So I've been sitting along side with her, pointing word to word and telling her to read together with me. Sometimes she remembers, other days she doesnt.

So I"ve also started some flashcards reading with her and she does picks up from there. Whenever we are out, and she notices words that she wants to know what is that, she would ask me.

While at the motherhood exhibition recently, there were tons and tons of booth selling educational stuffs for kids and babies. Teaching them how to read, how to learn maths, the whole lot of knowledge books etc etc. And I must say in our society these days, it is not hard to see any parent who puts in great effort to shower their child with information.

Remember I had recently blog abt the 2 kids in the center I'm working at? I told SIL about it and their whole family reactiON? No big deal lah. When BIL entered P1, he didnt even know a single word of English and didnt even know how to hold a pencil and was even drooling! Thats because MIL speaks only hokkein and being a SAHM, the kids only learn hokkein and mandarin from FIL.

And how is BIL now? Went overseas for studies for 5 yrs, came back with a Phd, landed himself in a high post at a well known company. So the conculsion? I can never convince them. So I would keep it to myself. Their thinking is, last time also dont have such things and we can still produce excellent kids. So? *switches my ears off*

Mum said a casual remark that hurt me a little. If she was my MIL, I would have gotten really angry with her. And I'm thankful sometimes hb is a little bo chap to such remarks.

Mum was pointing a 1-2-3 book to reyes and casually asked him to tell her what does "5" is. Reyes was more fascinated with the 5 kittens and so he didnt answered her. Then mum said "you so slow, your jiejie last time know already." They are always very proud of rie for she is their gem. I guess is that full 5 months of bbsitting rie when I was still working before I resigned that made them really pamper and dote on rie alot. So much more than my 1st niece.

I realise that rie and reyes definitely have different interest. *Thank god* Reyes is very very fascinated over cars, trains, bulldozers, cranes, anything involved with vehicles. And todate, I cannot name a bulldozer picture or a wheel loader picture correctly, but reyes can identify which is which. To me, they all just look the same. And it's a big achievement for me to identify and know whats a cement mixer, and a forklift truck and an excavator. Given that I never bother to know the last time. All I know was dora, barney, Bj, bb bob.

Reyes cannot sit through an episode of barney. Never! But rie can. He is now still hooked on his Finding Nemo despite watching it a thousand time.....hoo hoo.

Gatsby Commercial

Did you guys saw the latest Gatsby commercial on telly?
Their commercials are always one of the most attention grabbing and funny that I've come across.

And the recent one really made me laughed my toes off! The first time I saw, I laughed coz it was just hilarious.

If that facial wash can really change a man to that handsome hunk, I would be the first in line to rush to buy for my man. hahahaha.

Reyes loves this commercial too and he would use his palms to pretend to wash his face and smile.

Sob sob..my poor boy...

So okay, after much hesistation, I decided to send reyes back to see the PD again. He has lots of phlegm and as he coughed at the clinic, the PD said it sounded quite serious and then listened to his lungs.

And then said, he's having bronchitis..I was shocked, but prepared and so I asked mild, serious?
He said is mild. and I really hope is just mild! So gotta put him on 1 dose of neubuliser and this time, hb insisted we mask him and I am very very proud of reyes that he did not cry or moved at all while on the mask!!!

And it was quite funny actually, coz he kept kicking his left leg as if to distract himself whats going on and at one point of time, I told rie to hold her didi's hands to give him support and when they both hold hands, awww..that moment was just unexplainable lor. And reyes did seem to feel more comforted holding either sister or hb's hands. He cant hold my hands, coz I was carrying him.

And then today, he started telling me "bite bite", but I dont know what he's trying to say. But it's very painful for him as I see him grind his teeth. It seem to me as if his lower molar is moulding his upper gum and causing pain. Today I brushed his teeth and I saw some blood on his lower molar. So upset to see him in such a state. I cant remember how painful teething was for rie.

Teething....

It's been a roller coaster ride for reyes and myself and hb. He's been so grouchy since last month and I spotted a molar sprouting out. And I thought they would grow one at a time.

Today, I put my finger into his mouth, coz he came running to me after he drank a sip and I thought he swallowed a "guey-ji", the black type of seed that you normally eat during chinese new year. And that's how I discovered that, there are 2 other molars on the upper level sprouting out too! So there's still 1 molar yet to make its appearance. That explains his weird fever, once a week, his grouchiness, his unhappiness and whining.

It's a Sunday today.
Yesterday's morning ended with me feeling so refreshed and satisfied. Perhaps just 70% satisfied, coz upon reaching home, I realised that I didnt get to indulge in cheesecakes or any other cakes and a cuppa coffee!

It's a pity, coz we ended up at Coffee Club and their dessert wasnt very appealing to us lor, so ended up, with that little time, we went for a quick window shopping before we bid goodbye.

I woke up early that Sat, cant seem to sleep through the night. Part of me feeling so eager to head out secretively on a date that I didnt even let hb know. So there I was, happily dressing up and then bid goodbye to hb. I was surprised to see so many people early in the morning and at Swissotel Hotel too.

I was quite keen to head for a buffet breakfast, having such a rare chance to wake up in the morning. The spread looks good and I went to enquire how much it was. The recept said $44.73 nett. I was like har, so expensive for a buffet breakfast? So I walked around to see what other places were operating so early. In the end, we ended up at Coffee Club.

It was really nice to meet up with sis after 6 months and I was telling her, I was so glad she was so nice to agree for the meet up. Otherwise, I think I would probably be hanging out alone somewhere at some coffee club or perhaps Macdonalds for bf then shop around.

Heading home, I cant help feeling a little guilty for having that few hours break secretly. But, I really needed that break lor. So glad so glad, I cant wait for another one.

Toy Story fanatics...

The kids are now so crazy over Toy Story. Reyes is now a converted fan, influenced by his sister. His favourite characters are Woody and Buzz Lightyear. Did i mention earlier before that rie spotted a Woody at Tanglin Mall, in a shop that sells all sorts of collectable toys. And well, her wish came true when grandpa bought it for her, despite trying all means to let her forget about that toy Woody. Grandpa actually went back 2 days later to the shop to purchase it and presented to her as a surprise when we dropped by mum's place. It was months back and Woody is still safe and sound, though he can be abused by rie sometimes lah. hoo hoo...

And so, I"ve been waiting for the manufacturer to launch Jessie. It's one of ries favourite and whenever we play Toy Story 2, on the part where Jessie sits near the window, feeling so sad blah blah, rie would act that scene out. And you've guess it, she picked up the " not fair" from dear Jessie lor! And that's how reyes picked up. Sigh....

So hb dropped by Robinsons today and was so excited to see Jessie on display and bought it for rie. It's so lovely from the pix and hb actually sms-ed to say he love it too. Hoo hoo...

And for reyes, hb bought him Bulls-eye, the horse that comes along with Jessie. So now, we have a set. That is until we have $$ to get buzzlight year. Hb said the one that dad bought has a English version that costs $109! The one that dad bought speaks in Spanish when you pull the string behind Woody. And according to dad, he said it's $39.90. I 'm not sure how true it is now that I know it is selling at $109 at Robinsons....tsk tsk..Kid's toys these day are really not cheap.

I cant wait for the movie to start on June 17, gonna bring the kids to watch. They have been watching the trailers and clips on youtube and I'm hooked too...

I've also bought the Toy Story magazine by Disney for rie and she loves reading it. Just that I'm the one reading to her over and over again till I'm so xian...

Toyrus have brought in a huge collection of the Toy Story toys and they had the cutout board of Woody and Buzzlight year. It was a failed attempt to get the kids to pose..sigh...

Rie was trying real hard to tip-toe to get her head fit into buzzlight year...

And this is the pretty Jessie posing with Woody....Rie was anxiously waiting for hb to come home after I showed her the msn pix that hb sent to me of Jessie. Once the doorbell rang at 615pm, she screamed and rushed to the door and ransacked hb's bag when he stepped in...

The toys are so not cheap these days and I"m pretty shocked that hb bought 2 adult collection of Woody and Bulls-eye that costs $24.90 and $34.90 respectively! OMG lor. Will take pix next time.

Did I mention, they have the toy storys underwears for boys too and hb got a pack for free during the lucky draw and reyes loves them.

Slack...

I've been seriously slacking doing the hairbows. I thought when the school holidays are here, I can then stay up late to do the bows, but I ended up sleeping through while patting the kids to bed. Argh...seems like as age catches up, I cant stay up late like an owl anymore like i used to.

I really wish and hope that I would be able to launch. Made so many hairbows liao, posted on the new blog, but then a part of me tells me I just need to do more before I can launch.

Havent had the time to source boxes to store the hairbows too. If you have come across cheap small gift boxes, do alert me k!

Slipper thief in the estate....

Hb came home yesterday, realising his Bata slippers were stolen when we were all set to head out at 8pm.

He was shocked and so was I. I quickly checked to see if my good old birkens was still around or not.

Who would steal? Are times really that desperate? I think the thief was daring enough to strike, coz our neighbour's door was closed. Everyday, our neighbour's door would be opened all the way until night time. BUt during the school holiday break, I think the grandpa heads to his other kids place to bunk and so, no men around during day time and hence the SAHM keeps the door closed. Tsk tsk tsk....

The funny thing was, hb's teva was safe and sound! hoo hoo.

Parent Meeting Session

Today marks the first time me as a parent heading to school to meet the rie's teachers.

I remember back then during primary school, mum is always the one at school for the meeting as dad is busy at work. And I love parent meeting sessions! Cant remember the reason why, but I'm always happy to have my mum in school to be in my classroom.

Rie's still young and doesnt understand. She kept asking me why is she not in her uniform and can she wear her hello kitty croc shoes to school? And after we left, she asked how come there is no lesson and dont she have to take the school bus back?

Dad offered to send us to school. Thank god dad was with me, otherwise I would not be able to handle 2 monkeys and carrying a big portfolio full of rie's artwork and her progress book home.

While waiting, we got to view the kid's work in their classroom....This is a windcharm that the teachers made with all the stones that the kids stringed together.

And I have no idea what this is, but rie said it's a bread. Her photo reminds me of hb, smile till so fake. hoo hoo....

Reyes was very fascinated with the tortoise and insisted me to take a pix of it.

The meetup went well and lasted only 20mins as the teachers didnt have much time to spare. They have 15 students to clear and had to be fast. Overall, rie's performance and development in school is good. Some improvements include her to be able to take turns and share and to communicate with her friends more.

Her chinese teacher was full of praise for her. Saying that she is very keen to learn Mandarin and would even ask her how do you say in Mandarin " slide" as they went outdoor to play. The only thing was, she said her pronounciation "发音还有一点英文"....Asked us to help and correct her when we spot any mistakes. I'm very happy already lor, cant be asking for more! From not understanding and speaking any Mandarin in Jan, she has already picked up alot within 5 months. Such that now when hb and myself converse in Mandarin, we have to take note of what we say if we do not wish rie to know, eg : if hb's gg out to buy something.
